WHY ATTEND?
The buyers that attend the show are looking for specialty seating and sleeping surfaces, as well as the occasional furniture and accessories to compliment them. The vendors on the exhibit floor are exhibiting futon mattresses, futon frames and occasional furniture, bedroom furniture, accessories, specialty mattresses including water, air, latex and the hot new memory foams on the market today. The choices are vast and convenient. This is the only show in the world devoted exclusively to sitting and sleeping alternatives - the top players in the industry will be in one room.
BUYERS
Buyers who attend the Futon and Specialty Sleep Trade Expo are dealers who carry futon furniture and/or specialty sleep products, as well as conventional retailers buying for specialty departments within their stores. Each buyer who walks in the door is a qualified specialty product shopper. These buyers know they can see conventional furniture at dozens of other shows, but they come to see new and innovative products that will distinguish their stores and give them an edge in the competitive battle for that elusive disposable consumer dollar.
EXHIBITORS
Our exhibitors are manufacturers, distributors, suppliers and importers of the most innovative sitting and sleeping surfaces available on the market today. These exhibitors bring attendees the latest in futon furniture design, functionality and style, along with beautiful cover fabrics, pillows, table-top accessories, lamps, rugs, and more. The newest in specialty sleep surfaces will also be on display, including flotation, air, latex and adjustable beds, all in one place, all at one time.
HISTORY
The FAST Expo - Futon and Specialty Sleep Trade Expo (formerly known as the Futon Expo & Specialty Sleep Show®) is owned and operated by the Futon Association International. The show took place once a year, changed locations each year to expose as many retailers as possible to it’s unique mix of products.
The 2004 show in Philadelphia marked the 20th year that the Expo had been held. Beginning as a small exhibition to accompany the Futon Association?s annual convention, it has grown into an international trade show that futon specialty stores, mattress stores, furniture stores and department stores have put permanently into their buying schedule. In 1999 the Specialty Sleep Association (formerly known as the Waterbed Association) gave their support to the show and it became the FUTON EXPO & SPECIALTY SLEEP SHOW?, offering specialty mattress categories that appeal to the growing number of mattress stores around the country
The FAST Expo - Futon and Specialty Sleep Trade Expo is the only show in the world dedicated specifically to what could be called ?alternative furniture? Retailers who come to this show are specialty retailers, or conventional furniture stores looking to sustain or expand their seating/sleeping categories. These buyers are looking for exceptional function and comfort in seating and sleeping.
